Author event at Old Malden Library
Local author Pamela Pickton will be visiting Old Malden Library to talk about her life and work, including her latest novel, “If we win the pools, we can go to the Coronation” on Thursday 9 September, 2.30 – 3.30pm (refreshments available from 2pm). Tickets are £2 to include refreshments, and are available from Old Malden and New Malden Libraries. It’s never too late to learn
Old Malden Library is running a course for novices starting on Friday 10 September, 10am to 12 midday. This 4 week course is suitable for complete beginners and will be taught either on desktop or laptop computers. It covers the basics of using a mouse and keyboard, basic word processing, such as creating a document, printing, saving and editing, and basic Internet, such as visiting named websites and using a search engine. Managing files and folders on your PC
Tolworth Library is running a short course on managing files and folders on Friday 20 August, 9:45 – 11:45 am.
This course, which costs £3, is suitable for people with some knowledge of using the computer and saving files. It concentrates on getting the student used to using Windows Explorer to create folders, move files, copy files, delete & rename files and folders and also looks at file extensions and the different views (such as details, thumbnails etc).
